The Friday Baking Experiment continued last week, but it’s not worth talking too much about. I made Snickerdoodles, they were fantastic, and we ate them. It’s definitely going to be my go-to recipe for Snickerdoodles, since they were so chewy with a great balance of cinnamon and sugar.
So far I haven’t gained any weight by baking every Friday, but it’s probably just a matter of time. This week I’m planning to make bread pudding, again from the Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook.
I also had a new book out last week. It’s getting some of the best reviews of my brief writing career, so that’s been a treat. I had my first signing for it at my local B&N. Everyone at the store was wonderful. A special thanks to all my friends who came out on a weeknight to support me!
Tonight I’m doing a signing up in Atlanta and then I’ll be at the Decatur Book Festival at the end of the month. There are some more appearances in September and October, but I’m keeping it much lighter this year. I ran around like a crazy lady for Hot, Shot, and Bothered, but I can’t keep up that pace. Also, I don’t own that many different dresses to wear to these things. 🙂
I’ll post soon and let you know how the bread pudding turns out.
